Post 1: Day before trip.

It is the day before i will be boarding a plane to Washington DC to meet up with a group of kids from my school to go visit Germany, The Czech Republic, Hungary, and Austria. Looking at the options for Jan Terms this year i saw some fairly interesting choices. Among those were a trip to Florida, China, and Israel. I had heard of a trip that followed the path of Dracula in Europe. This trip sounded extremely interesting to me, but unfortunately it was not being taught this year. Then one day in German Class Dr. Esa suggested his own Jan Term to central Europe. This sounded like the next best thing. The only downside was that i would not be reading the book Dracula, but i can read that on my own time so its not a great disappointment. This trip is exciting to me even though i have been to Germany 4 times before because out of those four times I have never seen Berlin which should be amazing, I cant wait. I am also incredibly excited to see Austria because even though I can speak German and I have been to Europe I have never been to Austria and I did not really see a good opportunity to visit any time soon. Finally I am Excited to see Budapest and Prague it could be the only time in my life I will see these cities and they are supposed to be beautiful. I am a bit scared to go there though, however, because I do not speak the language and I hate going to a foreign country and not knowing any of the language, I feel it give the impression that you do not care and caries on the belief of the stupid American. this of course could be completely not true but its just the way I think about it.
This trip should be different from any other time that i have been to Europe because the others times I have gone I lived with families and went to school with the children and visited places that are more common to the locals rather than places you would find as a tourist. I feel because of the size of this trip and the format I expect a bit more of a touristic experience, however, that would be exciting, after all there is a reason people go to visit these places. Overall this trip should be a lot of fun and a great opportunity to see some really interesting places, cultures, practice the German language and get to meet new kids from school as well.

I cant wait!!!!!
